This is Cuil

There's a new search engine in town. A bunch of former Google people have formed Cuil. (That's supposedly an old Irish word for knowledge, pronounced like 'cool')

I've just started playing with it, but it's pretty cuilable. Competing with Google? Hmm, hasn't that been tried before?

Update already: when it hits it's a new way of looking for info. I like it, I think. It misses a lot. It doesn't look like I could get back to this site by just typing 'sosaipan'.

I saw the blurb about this on Fox this morning and started tooling around with it myself. It has potential. Supposedly surveys three times the number of sites that google searches through.

Must be my browser, but I couldn;t move on to the next five thousand, four hundred and eighty four links to my name. I did see more recent blogger mentions than I've run across on google, so I can see where their game comes from. Simon didn't care for it, but if I can find my name more often, I'm all for it.

I still use some of the meta crawlers.

This search engine seems useful. I like the readability factor too...not just a list but a short synopsis too.

Thanks for relaying the info, Ken.

Just ran across it on BBC. I'm always looking for new toys.
